Remember Apple's Animoji?Pachinko Angel Well, they just got even more ... interesting ... with "tongue detection."
During the unveil for the iPhone X last year, Apple introduced Animoji, which are 3D emoji capable of replicating your facial expressions and voice. On Monday, Apple added a tongue detecting feature, which they announced at the annual developer's conference. This, we presume, will likely only be used for sexting.
SEE ALSO: Live from Apple WWDC 2018 Via Giphy"Animoji do such an amazing job at tracking our expressions, and this year, we're taking Animoji to a whole new level with breakthrough new technology we call tongue detection," Craig Federighi, Apple's SVP of software engineering, told the crowd of developers at WWDC as a 3D monkey, unicorn, alien, and robot on screen stuck their tongues out at them.
"We're all going to be sticking out our tongues to our phones in the near future," he said.
Hell yeah we are, Craig.
Next Apple unveiled what it calls Memoji, which can also be described as a fancy ripoff of Bitmoji. But with the addition of tongue detection, Memoji means people will be creating emoji of themselves, licking the air in front of their screen in a desperate digital attempt at getting laid.
Thanks, Apple. This is exactly what we needed.
Some people were less than thrilled with this exciting development.
