Good news,Kalakal Sk8er Bois: your queen is very much alive (despite some pretty convincing conspiracy theories suggesting otherwise), and she's making her comeback.
Avril Lavigne, singer of early-aughts anthems like "Complicated" and "Girlfriend," is promising a return to the spotlight and a new album sometime in the near future.

"I just want to thank everyone for their patience as I work on putting together this new album. It's been a long recovery and I want to make sure that this is perfect for you guys!!," Lavigne wrote in a note shared to Twitter.
A new album would be Lavigne's sixth studio album, following 2013's self-titled project. Shortly after releasing that album, the singer was diagnosed with Lyme disease and hasn't released music due to struggles with her health.
"I can't wait to share the new music I'm working on, I promise it'll be here before you know it," she said, offering no specific details about the project.
"I challenged myself as a songwriter and I wanted to write about topics I hadn't hit on before," the Canadian singer tells Billboard. "There's the love topic, but a lot of these songs are about life. I've experienced a lot over the past few years, and some of the songs just came to me. Concepts and lyrics were flowing and I would have to grab my phone to sing into voice memo and write out my lyrics."
Her announcement was met with praise from fans on Twitter:
