That coffee cup cameo in Sunday night's episode of Game of Thronesis now a relic of the past thanks to a little Hollywood magic.
After some sharp-eyed Game of Thronesfans noticed what appeared to be beach sex videosa modern-day coffee cup sitting near Daenerys Targaryen during a feast scene in Winterfell on Sunday, the folks behind the show went into damage control-mode and edited out the cup, so anyone who watches the episode now won't see the gaff.
Before editing out the beverage, HBO released a statement saying that the latte on the table was an error, joking that Daenerys had actually ordered an herbal tea.

Along with that humorous statement, Game of Thronesexecutive producer Bernie Caulfield apologized during an interview on WNYC and made some light-hearted comments about the whole situation.
"Westeros was the first place to actually — you know— have Starbucks," Caulfield joked.
Even Starbucks got in on the fun, capitalizing on the bonfire of free advertising that the internet kept piling more logs onto.

The drink itself was actually not a Starbucks drink at all, though, according to the Wall Street Journal, which confirmed that it was a beverage from craft services.
In his interview, Caulfield praised the prop department and set decorators behind Game of Thrones, who he noted are "on it 1000%."
Caulfield continued, saying about fans, "If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape."
