The Defy Media-owned channel for fans of movies and television is expanding its content offerings with a new channel featuring three daily live broadcasts on YouTube and Facebook that kicked off Thursday.
The shows include a live morning broadcast, followed by multiple breaking news segments in the afternoon that explore entertainment news and what it means to the viewers; ongoing film and TV reviews, the No. 1 most requested addition by ScreenJunkies’ fans; and on-location coverage from Hollywood sets, press junkets and red carpet premieres.
"With ScreenJunkies News, we’re expanding our programming to host more celebrity talent on our shows, breaking down the day's biggest news in our signature ScreenJunkies style, and going deeper into the world of movies, TV and pop culture we love so much,” said Andy Signore, Head of Creative at ScreenJunkies.
ScreenJunkies News will be led by Editor-in-Chief Roth Cornet, who recently joined DEFY Media.
Since launching on YouTube in 2008, ScreenJunkies has amassed over 1.4 billion lifetime views and 5.7 million subscribers.
Last year, it launched ScreenJunkies Plus (SJ+) a subscription streaming service available for $5 per month. The platform features a handful of original programs, including an original scripted series.
