Judging from the opening minutes of Saturday Night Live's season debut,Foreign Archives the question on everyone at Studio 8H's mind was: How on earth do you heighten this already unbelievable general election?
Bring in Alec Baldwin, to start.
SEE ALSO: Trump's possible 18-year tax break has burned the internet downAs expected, SNLkicked off its 42nd season Saturday with a parody of the first debate between Donald Trump (Baldwin, marking his first time in the role) and Hillary Clinton (newly minted Emmy winner Kate McKinnon).
The most gasp- and LOL-worthy moments from the sketch didn't stray too far from the very OMG moments from Monday night's actual debate, from Trump's unique pronunciation of "China," to his inexplicable Rosie O'Donnell call out, to his bromance with Sean Hannity.
"I am going to be so presidential that all of you watching are going to cream your jeans," Trump declared.
"I'm better than ever, let's do this!" Clinton -- channeling Willy Wonka's entrance -- proclaimed.
Trump's microphone woes naturally made it into the spoof: "My microphone is broken. She broke it. With Obama," he said. "Can you hear that, I think it's somebody sniffing here."
When the moderator (Michael Che) asked Clinton what she thought of that statement, she cracked, "I think I'm going to be president!"
Clinton's desperate eagerness -- a recurring theme in SNL's Clinton -- also made an appearance: "Listen America. I get it: You hate me. You hate my voice and you hate my face. Well, here's a tip! If you never want to see my face again elect me President and I swear to God I will lock myself in the Oval Office and not come out for four years. But if you don't elect me, I will continue to run for president until the day I die."
Hillary shimmy, out!
