Amazon Go just got owned -- in French.
Monoprix,Family Movies | Adult Movies Online one of France's biggest grocery store chains, has a new ad campaign that parodies the Amazon service that promises to do away with cashiers and other pesky features of grocery shopping.
The nearly shot-for-shot video mimics Amazon's video introducing its plans for Amazon Go stores nationwide, which will let customers grocery shop without checkout and then charge their Amazon accounts for what they take.
SEE ALSO: Amazon just revolutionized the way you shop, again"Over 10 years ago, we were wondering, what would shopping look like if you could walk into a store, grab what you want and just go?" a French narrator says, translating the explanation of Amazon Go before offering a different message.
"You don't need an app to go shopping. So put away your phone and shop. It's really that simple."
The video introduces Monoprix's Livraison à domicile, or home delivery, service. After shopping in the store, customers can get their groceries delivered within the hour.
SEE ALSO: Kill the drones, Amazon Go is an actual game changerLike Amazon Go, that service means "no lines" and "no checkout," but also no app or a vision that prompts soul-searching about the future of work and automation.
Monoprix released its video on Tuesday, just over two weeks after Amazon officially unveiled its grocery plans.
For now, Amazon Go is only in Seattle, so Monoprix doesn't have to worry quite yet.
