Foldable phones1+ Archivesnice. They're also really, really expensive — for example, Samsung's 2020 foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, was priced $2,000 at launch.
But according to leaker Evan Blass, this will change for the better with the next generation of Samsung foldables, due to launch in a week.
On Tuesday, Blass tweeted what appear to be official recommended prices for the upcoming devices in Europe.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
According to Blass, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will start at €1,899 ($2,256), while another variant — presumably one with more storage — will cost €1,999 ($2,375). The Galaxy Z Flip 3, on the other hand, will start at €1,099 ($1,305), while the variant with more storage will cost €1,149 ($1,365).
Prices in euros almost never translate directly to dollars; the U.S. prices will surely be lower. But what's important about the prices above is that they're significantly lower than the starting euro prices of last year's Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 — €121 and €260, respectively. If Blass' numbers are accurate, Samsung's new foldables should be way more wallet-friendly than the previous models.

According to his sources, the 40-millimeter Galaxy Watch 4 will cost €279 ($332), while the 44-millimeter version of the same device will cost €309 ($367). Then there's the 42mm Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which will cost €379 ($450), and the 46-millimeter Galaxy Watch Wise, which will cost €409 ($486). Finally, the upcoming Galaxy Buds 2 will cost €159 ($189).
Again, the dollar prices are just for reference; it's almost a given that prices in dollars will be significantly lower than what you get when you directly convert euro prices.
All of these devices will officially be launched on Aug. 11; check here for a preview of what we can expect in terms of specs.
