Sure,A Married Woman Next Door Who Raises Three Waters (2019) Apple showed off new iPhones, a new iPad, and finally told us when we can subscribe to Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. But its surprisingly short (less than two hours, for once) event on Tuesday still left us with some questions about other Apple products.
Apple's new high-end desktop computer was an understandable omission from Tuesday's show. Everything else Apple showed was relatively affordable and meant for public consumption, at least compared to the $6,000 powerhouse that is the new Mac Pro.
Still, Apple hasn't told us the release date for the cheese grater-esque computer. It's supposed to come out this fall, and Tuesday's event would have been a great time to take a few seconds and let us know when it will be available.
One of the more intriguing rumors leading up to the showcase was that Apple would announce a new accessory meant for finding lost items. Think an Apple spin on the Tile tracker with augmented reality features.
Apple reportedly wants to incorporate it into the Find My app. It would have made for a flashy stage presentation, perfect for showing off the AR capabilities of iOS 13.
Unfortunately, it was not to be. Apple didn't so much as hint at the rumored product, leaving us wondering when or if we'll ever see it.
Earlier this year, Apple finally abandoned its long-awaited AirPower wireless charging mat. It was a major blunder for a company that rarely has to cancel products it has already unveiled.
There were actually rumors that wireless charging would return in another, more interesting form at the big September show. Until the night before the show, some people thought Apple's newest iPhones would be able to act as wireless chargers themselves. In other words, the back of the phone would be a wireless charger.
This "reverse wireless charging" concept was debunked mere hours before the start of the event. The debunking became official later, as Apple failed to mention the feature in Cupertino. Maybe we'll see it in 2020.
