There's nothing cuter (or nerdier) than love in the classroom.
Senator Elizabeth Warren,Esther Studer in honor of her anniversary with her husband, Bruce Mann, shared the sweet story on Facebook yesterday about how she proposed to him 36 years ago.
SEE ALSO: 27 times Elizabeth Warren masterfully burned Donald TrumpThe proposal surprised both Warren and Mann. It was after one of Mann's university lectures that Warren just up and proposed.
"When class was over and the students had cleared out, he came up to me and asked, somewhat hesitantly, “Uh, what did you think?”
“What can I say? Will you marry me?”"
After the initial surprise wore off, Mann simply said "OK," and as Warren wrote, "to make sure the deal was sealed, I smiled and said, “Good. Let’s do it.”"
While it may seem like a very straightforward or business-like response, the circumstances made it incredibly sweet.
Warren, who had been married once before, had two children, lived in another state and had an entirely different, "complicated" life compared to Mann. But according to her post, "he never hesitated" when it came to spending his life with Warren.
"We got married 36 years ago today," Warren wrote. "It made no sense at all, but maybe that’s how love works. All I know is that I’m sure glad I asked — and sure glad he said yes."
Some love stories are just too surprising to not have a happy ending.
