Nintendo and Watch FakeHub Originals Vol. 6 Onlinehasbro are teaming up for Monopoly Gamer, a new spin on Monopolythat brings the characters of Super Mariointo the classic board game with a few new Mario-themed twists.
On top of replacing the classic player pieces with Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong, Monopoly Gamerchanges up some of Monopoly's rules by introducing boss fights and character powers.
SEE ALSO: Your favorite board games have some pretty wacky origin storiesInstead of collecting all the money in the game to win (or in Monopoly Gamer, collecting the coins), players need to beat levels (a.k.a. collect properties) and defeat bosses to earn points. The player with the most points at the end wins, kind of like how Mario Partymatches are decided by players' star counts -- definitely less brutal than running your friends and family into the ground.
The dice will even work differently, with its own Mario spin. One die decides how many spaces you move and another die decides what ability you can use, like causing other players to drop coins on the board.
Here's a video that goes through some of the unique features in Monopoly Gamerin more detail:
