Netflix declined to renew ODAAT, one of their best sitcoms, after Season 3 dropped in February this year.
This decision was met with fan uproar, launching frantic online petitions to #SaveODAAT. Kellett, co-creator Mike Royce, and the show's cast including Justina Machado, Isabella Gomez, and Todd Grinnell have been extremely active on social media to let everyone know the progress of this mission.
An earlier report by Vulture's Josef Adalian suggested that Netflix was unwilling to let go of ODAAT despite CBS's interest in gaining the rights. Luckily, it looks like that decision was remedied and the show has finally landed on Pop TV, which will lose its claim-to-fame TV comedy Schitt's Creek next year.

Incidentally, both these comedies are high up on Mashable's list of the 10 best returning TV shows of 2019 so far.
One Day at a Time's renewal is a celebration. The sitcom tells important cultural stories and seamlessly blends them with comedy and heart, and has gained more critical acclaim with every passing season since launching in 2017.
The hard-working fans of the show were obviously excited to hear the good news:

Clearly, the prospect of witnessing more Alvarez family shenanigans, even if we have to wait quite a while, is already exciting for everybody.
One Day at a Time Season 4 will premiere on Pop TV in 2020.
