Apple also announced that its "Classroom" app, which helps teachers guide students through lessons, currently in beta for iPad, will roll out for Mac in June.
The software was announced at Apple's "Let's Take a Field Trip" educational event on March 27, alongside a new entry-level iPad and the Apple Pencil stylus.

As predicted, Apple VP of product marketing Susan Prescott also gave a brief nod to Apple's ClassKit framework that will allow app developers to create student evaluation features and let students take tests and quizzes online. The framework is also currently in beta for iPad.
Only time will tell if such an app can take on the powerhouses Blackboard, Canvas, and other software that students and teachers are used to using. But between the new app, the Everyone Can Code initiative, and cheap hardware, one thing's for sure: Apple has its eye on students.
