Remember when rosé was just something people enjoyed in the summer and rob lowe sex videothen it took over the planet and became way too much?
Sadly, red wine is in danger of suffering the same plight.
Red wine has long been the stuff to pair with rich meat and occasionally a hight limit credit card, but now there are many new and old world varieties that are accessible in both taste and cost.
Food and wine blogger Monique Robinson tellsMashable red wine hits the trifecta of wine: "It's easily accessible, affordable and delicious. It makes sense why it would be showing up everywhere."
Red wine hasn't jumped the shark yet, but the signs are all there.
1. It's in a sandwich

In 2013, BS in the Kitchen published a recipe for red wine grilled cheese. Last week, Country Living published a piece featuring the recipe and people are enthused.

To be fair, the sandwich itself, laden with a sticky-sweet red wine reduction and tangy Gruyere cheese, looks delicious.
2. It's in your child's beverage.
Red wine hot chocolate is all over the place. People love it. Red wine is no stranger to being served warm, but did hot chocolate really need to be part of the equation?
Well, it does look tempting.
3. It's in your drinking fountain
Well, it's in this Italian drinking fountain, which has so far attracted thousands of visitors. And with the good stuff flowing 24 hours a day, why shouldn't it?
4. It's in your swimming pool
In a way, at least. Japanese theme park/ wonder-spa resort Yunessun Spa Resort specializes in spa pools themed like ancient Greek palaces, ramen, coffee and red wine. That's right, you can swim in a merlot bath, poured directly from a 12 foot merlot bottle before you go to dinner to enjoy a glass or two.
Okay, it does look fun.
Clearly, it's impossible to allure the siren song of these fun red wine compilations. But will we push it too far? We have to stop before we hit red wine dog food to give Rufus that extra holiday buzz.
Let's enjoy red wine's moment while it's still ahead.
