Bieber hosted a pop up shop for his Purpose Tour merchandise at Barneys in New York City, and took some time to browse the store himself. When a fan approached him for an embrace, Biebs didn't even consider it.

Biebs curtly declines the hug with a "No." and just keeps walking, eventually stopping to admire his new collection with Fear of God designer Jerry Lorenzo, which includes sweatpants and leather jackets -- two items that most people consider cozier than hugs from strangers.

Bieber remains steadfast in his efforts to maintain as healthy of an inner life as you can when you're Justin Bieber, which includes limiting interactions with fans. If his public image takes a hit as a result, Biebs thinks it's a small sacrifice for preserving his mental health.

"Less hate, more love," is the energy he's trying to put out into the universe.
