Warren Buffett, the revered investor and third-richest person in the world, has issued a challenge to Republican nominee Donald Trump.
"I will meet him in Omaha or Mar-a-Lago or, he can pick the place, anytime between now and election." Buffett told a crowd in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. "I'll bring my return, he'll bring his return... And believe me, nobody's going to stop us from talking about what's on those returns. Send the word to him."
Trump has been the object of scrutiny lately (and for the past year) for refusing to release his tax returns to the public, as is custom for presidential candidates. When asked what tax rate he paid, Trump told a reporter, "It's none of your business."
Trump has also said that his returns are being kept private due to an audit being conducted by the IRS.
"Now I've got news for him, I'm under audit too," Buffett said. "There are no rules against showing your tax returns."
He continued, "You will learn a whole lot more about Donald Trump if he releases his income tax return."

Buffett, who has endorsed Hillary Clinton, also took the time to slam Trump for his treatment of Muslims, comparing him to Joseph McCarthy. Buffett expressed shock at Trump's treatment of the family of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed in action in Iraq.
Khan's parents, Khizr and Ghazala Khan, spoke at the Democratic National Convention, where they questioned Trump's patriotism. Khizr Khan said that Trump had sacrificed nothing, and asked "Have you even read the United States Constitution?"

Evoking the words of Joseph Welch, Buffett said, “I ask Donald Trump: ‘Have you no sense of decency, sir?’”
