One Redditor who participated in the website's annual holiday gift exchange clearly wasn't up to speed. After reading that their exchange partner PaltryPenguinu likes r/trees, the Redditor decided to gift him with a Bonsai tree.

PaltryPenguin shared a photo of the tree and book he received.

"In my bio I mentioned that I enjoy lurking on /r/trees and my SS was excited to have been matched with a fellow 'tree lover,'" he wrote on Reddit. "Regardless of whether or not this is a joke or if they really do have a strong passion for gardening, I love the randomness of my new bonsai tree and will try to keep it alive.
